Open
Use this function to retrieve pieces, models, or digitized data from an AccuMark storage area. You can open Measure Charts from this menu selection and even import AccuMark Zip files directly into PDS. A prompt will display when opening .zip files in Pattern Design to allow the user to select the destination storage area.
Open will also convert non AccuMark data including MicroMark Styles, ASTM/AAMA, TIIP DXF, Standard DXF, IGEs, Assyst Design, Investronica Design, and Lectra Design files.
1. From the File menu, choose Open or press the CTRL + O keys on the keyboard.
2. In the Files of Type field, click on the down arrow to select the data type to open.
3. In the Look In field, click on the down arrow to select the device and/or storage area where the pieces or models are stored.
4. To shorten the list of data displayed type part of the style number in the File Name field. For example, to find all pieces that start with 1954, type 1954* into the File Name field and press Enter or click Open. The * serves as a wildcard, meaning the pieces must start with 1954, but can have any other characters after that number.
5. Select the item(s), listed in the window. Multiple files can be selected using the SHIFT or CTRL keys.
6. Click on the Open button and the pieces will appear in the icon bar.
The following options can also be used when opening pieces or models:
• Use Filename Filter Lookup – allows the user to view filtered file names only. A wildcard filter must be typed into the file name box before any file names are displayed. Once the filter is typed in, the Enter key or the Open button can be used to display the filtered list of file names.
• Open Separate Work Areas – select this option to open the retrieved file into a new work area. Leave this option unchecked to open the file into the current work area.
• Open Model Options – allows for the additional pieces listed in Model Options to be opened along with the model.
