Copy Model
This function allows the user to copy a model and the pieces within the model. Copy Model can be used to quickly copy a model with a new style number. The new style number is applied to both the model and the pieces during the function. Additionally, the new style can be opened in Pattern Design or the Model Editor after the copy has been made.
1. From the File menu, select Copy Model or press the CTRL + C keys on the keyboard.
2. In the dialog box that appears, select the model name to copy. Select Open.
3. The Copy Model dialog box appears.
4. Click Apply. The piece names in the Destination Piece Name list should change.
5. If desired, select from the following options:
• Edit New Model – opens the model editor screen after OK is selected to allow the user to change the information in the model such as fabric type or piece count.
• Open New Model – opens the copied model file into Pattern Design once OK is selected.
• Open Options – opens the pieces defined in Model Options into Pattern Design once OK is selected. This option is only available if Open New Model is selected.
6. When finished, select OK.
7. The Save As dialog box will appear. Type in the name of the new model and select the device and storage area to save it in. When finished, select Save.
NOTE: When the Copy Model function is selected, the source model should not be open in Pattern Design. If the source model is currently open, an error message will appear on the screen.
• Back – returns to the previous step, allowing the user to select another model
• Continue – closes the model that is currently open and continues with the Copy Model function.
• Save and Continue – saves the open model and then closes it so it can be copied.
• Cancel – exits the Copy Model function without changing the open model.
